Join our team• We’re seeking an experienced Head of English to lead the department across Years 1 to 9 in our British curriculum school—driving high-quality literacy, consistent teaching practice, and measurable progress in reading, writing, speaking, and listening.

What you will do• Lead English department strategy, policies, and quality assurance for Years 1–9 (Key Stage 1–3).• Align curriculum and assessment with British frameworks (including Cambridge Primary and Lower Secondary, where applicable).• Design and sequence schemes of work, unit plans, and common assessments; ensure progression in phonics, spelling, grammar, comprehension, and composition.• Coach, mentor, and appraise English teachers; lead observations, feedback, moderation, and targeted professional development.• Build a strong reading culture: library use, guided reading, reading for pleasure, and targeted interventions.• Use data (formative, summative, benchmark tests) to monitor progress, close gaps, and raise attainment.• Model excellent instruction, including differentiation, literacy across the curriculum, and EAL-sensitive practices.• Coordinate resources, texts, and edtech tools; promote effective use of interactive panels and learning platforms.• Communicate with parents and stakeholders; represent English in leadership meetings.• Uphold safeguarding, health and safety, and whole-school policies.
What you bring• Bachelor’s degree in English, Education (English-focused), or a related field; recognized teaching qualification.• 5+ years of successful English teaching in British curriculum schools, including leadership or coordination.• Deep knowledge of progression in English from Year 1 to Year 9 (KS1–KS3), including phonics, early literacy, and Key Stage 3 literature and language.• Proven impact raising attainment through curriculum design, coaching, and data-informed instruction.• Strong people leadership: coaching, feedback, timetable input/staffing, and building a collaborative team culture.• Excellent command of English (C2-level or equivalent) for instruction, leadership communication, and parent engagement. What we offer• Salary: 30,000 – 40,000 EGP per month, based on experience and qualifications.• Transportation, social, and medical insurance.• Tuition fee discount for dependents.
