Job Summary: The Tax Accountant is responsible for preparing and filing accurate tax returns, ensuring compliance with local and international tax laws, and supporting tax planning initiatives. This role maintains proper tax records, assists during audits, and collaborates with internal teams and external advisors to manage direct and indirect tax obligations efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:Tax Compliance Prepare and file timely and accurate tax returns, including corporate income tax, VAT/GST, withholding tax, and other statutory taxes. Monitor compliance with local tax regulations and filing deadlines. Ensure proper documentation and archiving of all tax filings and records. Tax Accounting & Reporting Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual tax provisions, including deferred tax calculations. Reconcile tax accounts and ensure accuracy of balances reported in the general ledger. Support financial statement disclosures related to taxes. Audit Support Assist with internal and external audits by preparing supporting documentation. Respond to tax queries and audit findings from authorities or auditors. Maintain documentation for tax positions and internal control procedures. Tax Planning & Advisory Support Support the Tax Manager in researching tax issues and analyzing the tax impact of transactions. Participate in tax planning projects aimed at optimizing the company’s tax position. Assist with the preparation of transfer pricing documentation and intercompany agreements as needed. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with accounting, legal, and operations teams to ensure alignment on tax matters. Review contracts and transactions for tax implications. Liaise with external tax consultants and government tax authorities as necessary.
Qualifications & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Professional certification (CPA, CMA, ACCA, CTA) preferred.3–5 years of experience in tax accounting, either in a corporate or public accounting firm. Strong knowledge of local tax laws, IFRS/GAAP, and tax accounting principles. Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and tax software is preferred.
