Job Summary
General Accountant is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting activities, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting the preparation of financial reports & recording all bank-related financial transactions, ensuring accurate reconciliation of bank accounts.
This role ensures compliance with accounting standards and company policies while assisting management with financial analysis and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update general ledger accounts
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
- Prepare accounts payable and accounts receivable records
- Prepare periodic supplier statements and reconciliation reports.
- Track issued cheques and supplier settlements.
- Support audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries
- Record and monitor all bank transactions and movements
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations
- Prepare bank-related journal entries and adjustments
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies
- Support internal and external audits by providing bank documentation
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes
