Quality Planning & Documentation
- Develop and maintain detailed Quality Assurance/Quality Control procedures and Inspection and Test Plans (ITP) for LV panel systems based on approved specifications and international standards
- Create comprehensive test protocols and checklists for incoming materials, in-process assembly, and final acceptance testing
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly QA/QC reports documenting inspection results, material compliance, and non-conformance issues
- Establish and update quality metrics dashboards tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) such as defect rates, first-pass yield, and customer returns
- Maintain full QA/QC documentation including certificates of compliance, calibration records, test reports, inspection forms, and non-conformance reports
Factory & Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT)
- Execute comprehensive Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) on all completed LV panel assemblies before shipment to clients
- Conduct or supervise Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and commissioning activities at customer locations for complex installations
- Perform functional testing of electrical circuits, control systems, safety interlocks, and mechanical operations
- Document all testing procedures, results, and compliance verifications with contractual specifications
- Identify deficiencies and coordinate with production teams to implement corrective actions before product release
Material & Supplier Quality Control
- Conduct incoming material inspections for electrical components (circuit breakers, contactors, busbars, insulation materials, etc.)
- Verify compliance with approved Bills of Materials (BOM), engineering drawings, and purchase specifications
- Manage supplier quality performance including approval audits, non-conformance tracking, and corrective action follow-up
- Maintain updated calibration schedules and certificates for all test equipment and measurement tools used in QC operations
- Coordinate with procurement on supplier defect trends and required improvements
Testing & Verification
- Perform high-voltage testing, short-circuit strength verification, and insulation resistance testing according to IEC standards (IEC 61439-1, IEC 62208, and other applicable standards)
- Conduct control circuit voltage testing (250V, 500V) as per design specifications
- Execute mechanical stress testing and validation of panel enclosures and structural integrity
- Verify proper grounding, earthing continuity, and lightning protection compliance
- Perform thermal stability and operational safety tests on assembled panels
- Document all test methodologies and maintain detailed test result databases for traceability
Non-Conformance & Root Cause Analysis
- Identify, document, and report all quality deviations and non-conformances using structured logging systems
- Conduct root cause analysis using appropriate methodologies (5-Why analysis, 8D Problem Solving) for critical defects
- Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) with realistic timelines and measurable outcomes
- Track closure and effectiveness of corrective actions to prevent recurrence
- Assist in processing warranty claims and investigating customer field failures
- Communicate findings to management and relevant departments with recommendations for process improvements
Standards & Compliance
- Ensure all manufacturing and testing activities comply with applicable international standards:
- IEC 61439-1 (Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies)
- IEC 62208 (Low-voltage equipment specifications)
- ISO 9001 (Quality Management System)
- National and regional electrical safety codes (ADDC, DEWA standards where applicable for Gulf installations)
- Stay current with emerging standards and regulatory requirements affecting LV panel design and manufacturing
- Prepare compliance documentation and specifications for customer review and approval
- Conduct internal audits to verify adherence to QMS procedures and customer contract requirements
Process Improvement & Continuous Enhancement
- Lead or participate in quality improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
- Implement process optimization techniques (5S, Value Stream Mapping, Just-in-Time) in manufacturing areas
- Identify opportunities to reduce scrap rates, rework, and inspection costs
- Train and mentor production staff on quality procedures and workmanship standards
- Drive a quality-first culture across manufacturing and assembly teams through awareness programs and feedback mechanisms
