Job Purpose:
The Stock Controller & Costing professional is responsible for managing inventory accuracy, controlling stock movements, and ensuring accurate product costing. This role ensures efficient warehouse operations, cost control, and compliance with company standards, leveraging Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central for stock management and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Stock Management & Control
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels across all warehouse locations.
- Record and track all stock movements, adjustments, and transfers in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Conduct regular stock counts, reconciliations, and cycle counts to ensure accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies promptly.
- Implement and enforce stock handling and storage procedures to reduce loss, damage, or expiry of goods.
Costing & Financial Accuracy
- Maintain accurate product costing records and update cost changes in the ERP system.
- Calculate and report on gross margins, stock valuations, and cost variances.
- Support finance and supply chain teams in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis related to inventory.
- Identify opportunities to optimize stock costs without compromising quality or availability.
ERP & Reporting
- Utilize Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to manage inventory, costing, and reporting.
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly stock and costing reports for management review.
- Monitor KPIs such as stock accuracy, turnover, wastage, and holding costs.
- Provide insights and recommendations for process improvements based on data analysis.
Process Improvement & Compliance
- Identify inefficiencies in stock control and costing processes and implement improvements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Maintain documentation for audits, inspections, and traceability of stock items.
Collaboration & Coordination
- Work closely with procurement, warehouse, and finance teams to ensure smooth stock operations.
- Assist in planning inventory purchases based on historical usage, sales forecasts, and demand trends.
- Support cross-functional projects related to supply chain optimization and cost reduction.
Team Support & Development
- Provide guidance to warehouse staff on proper stock handling and documentation.
- Train colleagues on ERP processes and best practices in stock management and costing.
