Senior Procurement Engineer
Department: Procurement Management Reporting To: Procurement Director Location: Sheikh Zayed Working Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PMDays Off: Friday & Saturday Work Type: Office-based with site visits if needed
Job Objective
We are seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Engineer to plan, manage, and execute procurement activities for materials, equipment, and services in a cost-effective, timely, and compliant manner. The role ensures alignment with technical requirements, project schedules, and company objectives, while optimizing supplier performance, reducing procurement risks, and supporting successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, and execute procurement activities in line with project requirements, schedules, budgets, and company policies.
Review technical specifications, drawings, BOQs, and scope of work to ensure accurate and compliant sourcing.
Prepare and issue RFQs/RFPs, analyze bids, and lead technical and commercial evaluations.
Select, negotiate with, and recommend suppliers and subcontractors to achieve best value in terms of cost, quality, and delivery.
Support drafting, reviewing, and preparing contracts and legal agreements.
Monitor supplier performance to ensure quality, on-time delivery, and contractual compliance.
Issue purchase orders and subcontracts according to approved procurement plans.
Coordinate with engineering, QA/QC, logistics, and construction teams to resolve procurement-related issues.
Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation for audits and management review.
Manage procurement risks including long-lead items, supply disruptions, and vendor non-performance.
Ensure compliance with contractual terms, ethical standards, and applicable regulations.
Support contract administration, variations, claims, and dispute resolution when required.
Prepare and present procurement status reports to management and project teams.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering.
CIP, PMP, or Supply Chain certification is a plus.
Experience:
Minimum 7–10 years of experience in a similar role.
Strong background in real estate or construction industry.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of engineering materials, equipment, and international standards.
Cost analysis, price benchmarking, and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) evaluation.
Supplier selection, evaluation, and performance management.
Solid understanding of procurement, tendering, and contracting processes.
Proficiency in ERP systems.
Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications.
Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Data analysis, reporting, and KPI tracking.
Working Conditions
Office-based role at Sheikh Zayed. Site visits as required.
