Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., IFRS / local GAAP).
- Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure transactions are correctly classified.
- Support the consolidation of financial statements for group entities.
- Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and external regulations.
2. Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Review supplier invoices, payment runs, and aging reports.
- Ensure timely collection of receivables and accurate posting of customer payments.
- Reconcile vendor and customer balances regularly.
4. Taxation & Compliance
- Support the preparation and filing of VAT, WHT, and corporate income tax returns.
- Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors during audits and inspections.
- Maintain proper tax documentation and ensure timely compliance with laws.
5. Fixed Assets & Inventory
- Supervise maintenance of the fixed asset register and monthly depreciation entries.
- Support periodic inventory counts and valuation adjustments.
6. Internal Controls & Process Improvement
- Identify process gaps and propose efficiency improvements.
- Support implementation of accounting systems (e.g., ERP/Odoo/SAP).
- Ensure adequate documentation and adherence to internal control procedures.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong understanding of IFRS and local accounting standards.
- Close attention to detail, analytical mindset, and accuracy.
- Excellent Excel and ERP system skills (SAP, Odoo, Oracle, etc.).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive and able to work both independently and within a team.
