CPI4 Developer - Senior ACE and DataPower Developer

  • A developer role focusing on both IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) and DataPower requires expertise in enterprise application integration and security. This hybrid position is responsible for designing, developing, and deploying solutions that securely connect different applications, data sources, and APIs, often within a service-oriented architecture (SOA) or microservices framework. 

Key responsibilities

  • Integration development: Design, develop, and implement complex integration solutions using the IBM ACE Toolkit, including message flows, transformation logic, and ESQL coding.
  • Security implementation: Configure and manage security features on IBM DataPower Gateways, such as SSL/TLS, OAuth, WS-Security, and AAA (Authentication, Authorization, and Auditing) policies.
  • API management: Work with RESTful and SOAP web services, designing, implementing, and securing APIs using IBM API Connect alongside DataPower.
  • Data transformation: Create and maintain XSLT stylesheets, XML schemas (XSD), and WSDLs for data transformation and validation across different protocols.
  • Protocol bridging: Use DataPower's multi-protocol gateways (MPGW) and web service proxies (WSP) to facilitate communication between disparate systems and protocols.
  • Cloud migration and containerization: Assist in migrating applications from older platforms like IBM Integration Bus (IIB) to modern, containerized environments such as Cloud Pak for Integration, OpenShift.
  • Troubleshooting and support: Provide L2/L3 support for integration solutions and production environments, including monitoring, error handling, and performance tuning.
  • DevOps and CI/CD: Support continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines by using BitBucket and Bamboo pipeline automated builds and deployments.
  • Collaboration and documentation: Work with cross-functional teams, including business analysts and architects, to gather requirements, provide technical guidance, and maintain documentation. 
  • Required skills and qualifications
  • Experience: Proven, hands-on experience with IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE), formerly IBM Integration Bus (IIB), and IBM DataPower Gateway.

Technical expertise:ACE: Strong knowledge of ACE architecture, message flows, ESQL, Java, and message models (like DFDL).DataPower: Expertise in DataPower services (MPGW, WSP, XML Firewall), XSLT, XML, and JSON.Integration technologies: Proficiency with messaging protocols like IBM MQ, REST, and SOAP.Security: Deep understanding of security concepts, including encryption, digital signatures, SSL/TLS, and authentication protocols like OAuth and SAML.Development tools: Experience with version control systems like Git and testing tools such as Postman and SOAP UI.Scripting: Competence in scripting languages like Shell, JavaScript (GatewayScript), or Python is good to have.Problem-solving: Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex integration issues.Domain knowledge: Experience in Telecommunication will be preferred.
