We are looking for a highly skilled Technical Office Engineer to bridge the gap between creative design and efficient production.

 

Role Summary

The Product Development Engineer (Technical Office) will be the cornerstone of our R&D process, responsible for transforming conceptual designs into precise, production-ready technical drawings and specifications. This role requires exceptional expertise using software " AutoCAD - SketchUp -  SolidWorks " , combined with a deep practical understanding of various wood and metal materials used in furniture fabrication.

 

Key Responsibilities:

The candidate will be responsible for the full technical lifecycle of new products, including:

  • Technical Drawing & Modeling: Create detailed 2D manufacturing drawings (Shop Drawings) and 3D models using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and SketchUp based on initial design concepts.
  • Bill of Materials (BOM) Management: Develop accurate and comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOM) that clearly specify all required wooden components, metal parts, hardware, and accessories for procurement and production.
  • Material and Specification Expertise: Act as the technical expert for material selection, identifying and specifying appropriate wood materials (e.g., MDF, solid wood, veneer, laminate) and metal types (e.g., stainless steel, aluminum, powder-coated steel) based on cost, durability, and design intent.
  • Prototyping & Testing Support: Collaborate closely with the workshop during the prototyping phase, adjusting designs, addressing technical issues, and ensuring manufacturability (DFM - Design for Manufacturing).
  • Research & Standardization: Conduct technical research on new materials, hardware, and joinery techniques to improve product quality, reduce manufacturing costs, and ensure adherence to local and international standards.
  • Documentation: Maintain a comprehensive library of product specifications, technical standards, and R&D reports.

 


Bachelor’s degree in Product Design, interior design, Industrial Design, or a related field.3 to 5 years of proven experience in product design and development, preferably within the furniture or home accessories sector.Strong proficiency in CAD software (such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).Demonstrated experience in research and development (R&D) environments.Excellent understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and prototyping techniques.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Strong communication and teamwork abilities.Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements.Willingness to work onsite and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
