Senior Local Purchaser

Job Purpose:

Responsible for overseeing all local purchasing activities to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality procurement of MEP-related products such as elevators, escalators, pumps, heavy trucks, and central AC systems. The role ensures supplier performance, cost optimization, and compliance with company procurement policies.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Develop and implement local purchasing strategies aligned with company goals.
  •  Supervise and lead the local purchasing team to ensure efficient operations.
  •  Source, evaluate, and negotiate with local suppliers for the best quality and price.
  •  Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong supplier relationships.
  •  Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies and ethical standards.
  •  Coordinate closely with the warehouse, logistics, and finance departments to ensure smooth material flow.
  •  Analyze market trends and recommend cost-saving initiatives.
  •  Prepare regular purchasing reports and performance analysis for management review.
  • Support project teams by ensuring timely material availability.

Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field. Minimum of 5- 7 years of experience in local procurement, preferably within MEP industries. Strong negotiation and vendor management skills Experience with procurement systems (ERP / Oracle preferred).Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills.Skills & Competencies: Strong understanding of local market and suppliers in MEP Sites Needs, Service Centers, Subcontractors Strategic thinking and team management abilities. High attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong English and Arabic communication skills.Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
