- Financial Reporting & Closure:
- Own and manage the month-end and year-end closing processes for the general ledger.
- Ensure all entries, accruals, and reconciliations are completed accurately and on time.
- Prepare and analyze the full set of financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow) in compliance with EAS and IFRS.
- Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure all financial reports and accounting treatments adhere to Egyptian Accounting Standards (EAS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) where applicable.
- Proactively monitor updates to both EAS and IFRS, assessing and implementing necessary changes in reporting and processes.
- Audit Management:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for external and internal auditors, providing necessary documentation and analysis to ensure a smooth audit process.
- Manage and resolve any audit queries and findings in a timely manner.
- Reconciliations & Analysis:
- Perform and review complex balance sheet reconciliations (e.g., intercompany, fixed assets, long-term liabilities).
- Conduct detailed financial analysis, variance analysis, and commentary on financial performance for management review.
- Process Improvement & Mentorship:
- Identify and recommend weaknesses in current accounting processes, developing solutions to improve efficiency and internal controls.
- Provide guidance, support, and review of work performed by Junior Accounting Associates.
- Tax Support:
- Provide reliable, compliant financial data and reports to the Tax team for the timely preparation of all tax payments, provisions, and returns (VAT, WHT, Corporate Tax).
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is required. Professional certification (CPA, CMA, ACCA, or local equivalent) is a strong advantage.Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in general ledger accounting, financial closing, and reporting. Experience in a multinational company or a professional services/audit firm is highly desirable.Technical Accounting: In-depth, practical working knowledge of Egyptian Accounting Standards (EAS) is mandatory. Solid knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and key updates is essential.Reporting Software: High proficiency in major ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis).Compliance: Demonstrated ability to manage and ensure compliance with local financial regulations.Language & Communication: Good command of English (written and verbal) to prepare reports and communicate with management.
