Purpose
The Senior Accountant will support the Accounting & Finance Director in managing accounting matters, coordinating and summarizing monthly/periodic financial results, and ensuring timely, accurate financial reporting. The role also involves maintaining proper books of accounts in compliance with IFRS standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting
- Maintain accounts receivable (sales invoices, credit notes, customer collections) and generate AR aging reports.
- Manage accounts payable (invoices, debit notes, supplier payments) and generate AP aging reports.
- Record fixed assets transactions to track company asset values.
- Handle petty cash transactions for approved expenses.
- Manage employee accounts (business trip advances, petty cash).
- Prepare monthly payroll, employee income tax, and social security.
- Post all miscellaneous financial transactions.
Controlling & Reporting
- Apply financial control measures across departments to manage expenditures and forecast performance.
- Prepare and submit monthly and periodic financial reports (Trial Balance, Management Reports).
- Analyze sales invoices and inventory costs to prepare sales and gross margin reports per business unit.
- Provide Country Manager with required financial data and reports.
Budgeting
- Coordinate with the Country Manager to prepare budgets by analyzing financial data and forecasting profitability.
Tendering
- Support business unit leaders with tender preparations through feasibility studies and profitability insights.
Tax Planning
- Calculate, prepare, and submit tax returns.
- Participate in tax settlements with tax authorities.
Auditing
- Provide auditors with required financial data and respond to queries to ensure smooth audit processes.
Policies & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures (Accounts Receivable, Purchasing, Expenses, Inventory, Fixed Assets).

Qualifications & RequirementsEducation:Bachelor’s degree in commerce, Finance, or related field (required)Professional certifications (CPA, CMA) preferredExperience:Minimum 6 years of accounting experienceOil & Gas industry experience is preferredStrong knowledge of IFRS and financial principlesSkills:Excellent analytical and reporting skillsStrong attention to detail and accuracyProficiency in accounting systems and MS Office
