Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Office Management & Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of light current engineers, draftsmen, and quantity surveyors.
Oversee the preparation, review, and approval of all technical submittals, including shop drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and material submittals.
Ensure all designs and engineering outputs comply with Egyptian engineering codes, client specifications, and international best practices.
Manage the workload, resources, and priorities of the technical office to meet project deadlines.
2. Tender & Proposal Support:
Act as the technical lead during the tender phase for all light current-related bids.
Analyze tender documents, drawings, and specifications to fully understand project requirements.
Lead the technical proposal writing, outlining the methodology, system design, and value proposition.
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to source quotations for equipment and services.
Work closely with the commercial tendering team to develop accurate Bill of Quantities (BOQ), cost estimates, and technical clarifications.
3. Contracting & Client Management:
Serve as the main technical authority for clients and main contractors for all light current work packages.
Review and negotiate technical aspects of contracts and subcontracts.
Manage the handover process from the tender phase to the project execution team, ensuring a clear understanding of scope and technical requirements.
Address and resolve any technical queries or variations raised by clients or during project execution.
4. Project Support & Quality Assurance:
Provide ongoing technical support to project managers and site teams during the execution phase.
Review and approve site installation methods, testing, and commissioning plans.
Conduct site inspections to ensure works adhere to approved designs and quality standards.
Oversee the preparation of As-Built drawings and final project documentation packages.
Qualifications and Requirements Education:Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Communications Engineering from a recognized university.Experience:A minimum of 10-12 years of progressive experience in light current systems engineering.At least 5 years in a managerial or team lead role within a technical office environment.Proven and extensive experience in the Egyptian market, with a strong understanding of local tendering processes, contracting laws, and technical standards.Demonstrable experience supporting tenders for large-scale facility management, construction, or fit-out projects.Technical Skills:In-depth Expertise: Mastery of low/light current systems, including:Structured Cabling & ICT NetworksCCTV, Access Control, and Intrusion Detection SystemsPublic Address (PA) and Emergency Sound SystemsFire Alarm Systems (NFPA 72 knowledge is a plus)Building Management Systems (BMS/BAS) and IoT solutionsMaster Antenna TV (MATV) and Intercom SystemsSoftware Proficiency: Expert user of AutoCAD, MS Office (especially Excel for BOQs). Experience with BIM (Revit MEP) is a significant advantage.Standards & Compliance: Thorough knowledge of Egyptian technical codes and standards.
