The role
The Senior IT Infrastructure and Security Engineer is a critical role responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and security of the organization's IT infrastructure. This position requires a deep understanding of complex IT systems, security best practices, and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.
Key responsibilities
- Implement, and maintain robust and scalable IT infrastructure solutions, including servers, storage, networking, virtualization, and cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, and Microsoft Office365).
- Develop and maintain infrastructure documentation, including network diagrams, configuration standards, and operational procedures.
- Manage and optimize network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.
- Implement and maintain security controls to protect the organization's IT infrastructure and data.
- Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify and remediate security weaknesses.
- Manage and monitor security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), endpoint protection, and SIEM.
- Respond to security incidents and breaches, conducting thorough investigations and implementing corrective actions.
- Implement and manage access control systems, ensuring least privilege principles.
- Implement and manage data loss prevention (DLP) and data encryption solutions.
- Provide expert-level support for complex IT infrastructure issues.
- Monitor system performance and availability, and proactively address potential problems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues.
- Maintain accurate inventory of IT assets.
- Manage and optimize server operating system and database systems.
Key skills and experience requiredBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related fieldMinimum of 6+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and security. Extensive experience with server administration (Windows Server, Linux), virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), networking (Cisco, Juniper), and cloud computing).Solid experience with Microsoft Office365 Service including implementation, management and support.Strong understanding of security principles, best practices, and technologies.Experience with security tools and technologies, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and endpoint protection.Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Microsoft Office365 Administrator Expert).Excellent command of English.
