We are seeking an experienced Façade Technical Manager to lead the technical aspects of façade design and engineering across high-profile projects. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in façade systems, excellent coordination skills, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams through design development, detailing, and execution.
Façade Technical Manager – Roles & Responsibilities1. Project Leadership & Technical OversightLead the façade design process from concept to execution.Ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, standards, and regulations.Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, and clients.Provide technical direction to the façade engineering/design team.2. Design & Engineering Review Review and approve façade system designs (aluminum, glass, cladding, etc.).Validate structural integrity, thermal performance, waterproofing, and fire resistance.Ensure design feasibility, buildability, and cost-efficiency.Coordinate with BIM teams for accurate façade modeling.3. Material Selection & SpecificationSpecify suitable façade materials (aluminum systems, glass types, fixings, etc.).Evaluate alternative systems for performance and value engineering.Approve material submittals and samples from suppliers.4. Shop Drawings & CoordinationOversee preparation and quality of shop drawings and fabrication drawings.Ensure coordination with structural, architectural, and MEP elements.Manage clash detection and resolution.5. Fabrication & Installation SupportLiaise with fabrication teams to ensure technical compliance.Resolve technical issues during production and site installation.Conduct technical site visits and inspections when needed.6. Documentation & ReportingMaintain technical records, calculations, approvals, and revisions.Prepare technical reports, risk assessments, and progress updates.Support project managers with documentation for approvals.7. Team Management & MentorshipGuide and support junior façade engineers and designers.Review team outputs for quality and accuracy.Conduct technical training or workshops when required.
