Job Purpose: Management of the bonded cage as well as inbound Gateway Sort Operations by planning and implementing strategies and tactics to ensure improvement in quality, service and transit time performance whilst managing costs.

Nature & Scope:
- Handling inbound sort management
- Handling bonded cage daily activities
- Ensuring high level of sorting quality and timely connectivity of inbound cleared shipments
- Managing bonded cage day to day operations, inventory, and movements of inbound shipments
- Coordinating with customs authority and brokers to ensure smooth shipments handover during and after clearance completion
- Coordinating with various functions and responding to queries including local country and network
- Ensuring an effective rostering planning in accordance with inbound volumes
- Resolving any arising problems and take corrective actions as dictated by operational contingencies.
- Evaluation of applicable procedures to ensure optimum level of performance
- Leading First Choice initiatives to enhance overall performance and cost management
- Manage the security of the facility and operating systems within DHL network security policy
- Ensure day to day handling and management of shipments movements
- Provide guidance and approve shift plans, procedural changes, minor operational changes, and general organizational changes within the function
- Monitoring both individual and overall team performance and aligning with country and regional KPIs
- Handling team appraisal planning
- Identify training needs and opportunities to develop a highly skilled functional department
- Management of aged shipments, scanning, inventory and coordination with authorities to ensure timely transfer to customs
- Effective use of available spaces within gateway through
Qualifications:
- University degree preferably in logistics and warehouse management
- First Choice certification is recommended
Experience:
- 5 Years of operational experience, preferably within logistics industry, customs and warehouse management
Key Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:
- Software skills (Excel and PowerPoint)
- Customer oriented
- Customs knowledge – 5 years minimum
- Planning and organizing of tasks to ensure function/country goals are met
- People development
