Job Purpose:
- Responsible for the daily sales activity of the import trade in close partnership with the sales manager in order exceed the volume/yields target and maintain a good relationship with MSC customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Sales Manager in developing new/existing business including pricing inquiries, securing new bookings with a target driven approach and authorized rate reduction if needed.
- Assist the Sales Manager in providing a full detailed rate request to the Trade Managers after negotiating it with the customers.
- Approach and build strong customers’ relations through conducting emails and phone calls.
- Assist the Sales Manager in analyzing market opportunities and identifying potential customers.
- Obtain deep understanding and fresh knowledge of different commodities, as well as acquire the most up to date and relevant business insights along with an extensive understanding from customers themselves to the whole industry.
- Assist the Sales Manager in developing local differentiators and formulate a business plan to support target delivery.
- Ensure that sales systems and reporting are up to date for management tracking, analysis, and planning.
- Assist the Sales Manager in communication and liaison across the commercial teams to ensure full support for the customer.
- Assist the Sales Manager in ensuring that the freight and landside charges are accurately captured and filled with the tariff management system to avoid any discrepancy.
- Perform fully detailed follow-up tasks in coordination with other departments and handle the necessary communication whenever needed.
- Perform all the Sales Manager responsibilities when he is not available.
- Provide complete and accurate reports to the Management as needed.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
