We are seeking a proactive and results-oriented Strategy Specialist to join our Strategy Management Office (SMO). The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, capable of providing insights and guidance for the development and execution of long-term strategies. This role requires someone with academic experience, who is familiar with research-driven strategy formulation and can contribute to the development and alignment of strategic objectives. As a key member of the SMO team, the Strategy Specialist will work closely with leadership to drive the university's strategic priorities and enhance its competitive position in the academic sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of the university’s strategic plan in alignment with its mission, vision, and goals.
- Support senior leadership in analyzing strategic initiatives, making data-driven decisions, and identifying opportunities for improvement across various departments.
- Conduct market, industry, and academic research to inform strategy development, ensuring strategies are grounded in current trends, data, and best practices.
- Prepare strategic reports and presentations for internal stakeholders, outlining key performance indicators, progress, challenges, and recommendations.
- Facilitate the alignment of business unit objectives with overall institutional goals, ensuring consistency across the university’s departments.
- Assist with the coordination of strategic planning sessions, workshops, and meetings with senior leadership, faculty, and staff.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of strategic initiatives and identify areas of improvement, tracking the impact on university performance and objectives.
- Provide recommendations for process improvements, risk management strategies, and resource allocation to ensure successful strategy execution.
- Stay up to date with academic trends, policy developments, and innovations in higher education, applying this knowledge to the university’s strategy.
- Support the preparation of key performance metrics and assist with the management of strategic initiatives within the university’s performance management system.
- Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of a strategic management framework to support continuous strategic planning and execution.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Strategic Management, Education, or a related field.Proven experience in strategy formulation, strategic planning, or business analysis.Preferably experience within an academic or higher education environment.Strong understanding of academic administration, challenges, and opportunities in higher education.Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely to senior leadership and diverse stakeholders.Familiarity with strategic management frameworks and performance measurement tools.Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with a range of stakeholders.Experience with project management, particularly in strategic initiatives, and a strong ability to drive results.Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and familiarity with strategic planning software tools.
