Job Description:

We are seeking a Telecom (Electrical & Mechanical) Senior Engineer with extensive experience in the design, installation, and maintenance of Telecom E&M infrastructure systems. The ideal candidate will have expertise in the electrical and mechanical aspects of telecom systems, including power systems, and cooling solutions. As a senior member of the team, you will lead technical projects, guide junior engineers, and ensure the effective and efficient delivery of telecom E&M infrastructure solutions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Telecom System Design & Implementation: Lead the design, and commissioning of telecom E&M systems, including electrical and mechanical components, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Power Systems & Equipment: Oversee the installation, operation, and maintenance of DC power systems, UPS, batteries, and backup generators to ensure the continuous operation of telecom networks.
• Cooling Systems: Oversee the Design and maintain efficient cooling systems, including air conditioning, ventilation, and climate control solutions to support telecom equipment.
• Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Conduct troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical issues in telecom infrastructure and equipment, providing quick, effective solutions to minimize downtime.
• Project Management Support: Support project managers in planning, organizing, and executing telecom infrastructure projects. Ensure timely delivery within scope and budget, while adhering to safety and quality standards.
• Site Surveys & Planning: Conduct site surveys to assess infrastructure requirements, propose design solutions, and provide technical recommendations for telecom E&M systems.
• Team Leadership: Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians. Lead by example and ensure adherence to company standards and best practices.
• Documentation & Reporting: Prepare detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, system configurations, test reports, and maintenance logs.
• Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with other engineering teams (e.g., network engineers, and IT specialists) to integrate telecom systems with other infrastructure solutions.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure all telecom system installations and operations comply with relevant regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.
• Customer Support & Consultation: Provide technical support to customers during the project lifecycle and offer consultation on telecom system upgrades or improvements.

Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field.8+ years of experience in the telecom industry, with a strong background in the design, installation, and maintenance of telecom power systems, and electrical, and mechanical equipment.In-depth knowledge of telecom infrastructure, including DC power systems, UPS, backup generators, cooling systems, and related electrical and mechanical equipment.Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, with the ability to resolve complex technical issues in telecom systems.Experience with project management, including managing timelines, resources, and budgets for telecom infrastructure projects.Familiarity with telecom industry standards, regulations, and best practices.Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide and motivate junior engineers and technicians.Proficiency in using CAD software or other design tools to produce technical drawings and system layouts.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and customers.Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Preferred Qualifications:Certification in telecom-related areas (e.g., fiber optics, electrical systems) or project management (e.g., PMP).Knowledge of telecom network equipment such as routers, switches, and antennas.Experience with network power and cooling solutions in telecom data centers or cell tower installations.Experience in telecommunications infrastructure projects in the Middle East and Africa.Knowledge of energy-efficient telecom infrastructure and sustainability practices.Why Join ISST-FIBER OCEAN?Be part of a leading company shaping the future of power and telecommunications infrastructure.Work on innovative projects with a team of industry experts.Competitive compensation and benefits.
