Position: IT Technician
The IT Technical Support Engineer is responsible for overseeing the performance, upkeep, and improvement of computer systems and networks. The role involves configuring and setting up computer systems, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and resolving technical challenges to ensure optimal operation of systems and applications. The Technical Support Engineer will manage the day-to-day functionality of computer systems while maximizing user efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
The IT Technical Support Engineer will be tasked with the following duties:
- Install and configure computer hardware, operating systems, and software applications
- Utilize diagnostic tools for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
- Monitor, maintain, and proactively manage computer systems and network infrastructure
- Replace hardware components when necessary
- Troubleshoot system and network-related problems and resolve hardware or software issues
- Manage the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of showroom networks
- Address and resolve user issues efficiently
- Respond promptly to service requests within agreed timeframes
- Focus on task completion until the resolution of issues
- Build positive working relationships with colleagues and professionals
- Manage the creation of new user accounts, profiles, and handle password-related matters
- Provide comprehensive support, including documentation and reports
- Assist with the deployment of new software applications or updates
- Test and evaluate emerging technologies
- Install and troubleshoot customer counting systems and associated devices
- Maintain records of hardware/software and keep documentation updated
- Access online resources such as software updates, drivers, and knowledge bases to aid in troubleshooting
- Perform other duties related to the role as needed
