- Applies engineering principles to analysis; designs (modifies or develops) static equipment such as pressure vessels, reactors, heat exchangers, drums, columns, piping, etc. and similar products in the Oil & Gas, and Petrochemical industries
- Analyses engineering proposals and related technical data pertaining to static equipment.
- Co-ordinates with clients/consultants and reviews requirements and comments on engineering issues and recommends solutions.
- Develops designs and details considering costs, material availability, time limitations, company planning and other economic factors.
- Prepares / directs preparation of design and detailing on material fabrication time, constructability and electability.
- Analyses the design and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specification.
- Carries out ‘Optimization’ review of design and details on materials, fabrication time, constructability and electability.
- Explains, if necessary, project scope of work, design details, project specifications and job requirements to Drafting Section, Estimators and Quantity Surveyors.
- Recommends solutions for site engineering queries related to construction and erection.
- Analyses and resolves work problems or assists Estimators and Quantity Surveyors.
Bachelor/ master’s degree in mechanical engineering (specialization in Process Equipment Design desirable)Thorough knowledge of ASME SEC 1, VIII Div. 1 & 2, API 650, API 620, Piping stress analysis requirements. Capable of performing design, estimation, FEA analysis review and checking of detailed design calculations for different process equipmentThorough knowledge of related mechanical analysis and design for vessels, columns, tanks’ support system. Fully conversant with COMPRESS / PVELITE / AMETANK / SOLIDWORKS / AUTOCAD softwareCapable of preparing General arrangement drawing from designer’s sketches, specifications, standard practices and manuals. Conversant with drafting technique in producing shop drawings and preparation of MTO.Exposure to drawing process, checking process, correcting process and revising process.
