We are looking for an experienced and strategic Merchandising Manager to lead the launch and management of our e[1]commerce business. This position will be responsible for the development and execution of a comprehensive merchandising strategy, including managing the Product Catalogue System (PCS), product category strategy, website merchandising, pricing strategies, inventory replenishment analysis, and overall product lifecycle management. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of e-commerce operations and a passion for creating an exceptional online shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Catalogue System (PCS) Management
- Oversee the management and optimization of the Product Catalogue System (PCS), ensuring accurate and up-to-date
- product information across all e-commerce platforms.
- Develop and implement processes to streamline the product onboarding process, ensuring consistency in product data, images, and descriptions.
- Work with IT and development teams to ensure that the PCS is functioning effectively and integrates seamlessly with the e-commerce website and backend systems.
- Ensure product data accuracy, categorization, and alignment with business needs for a smooth customer experience.
Product Category Strategy
- Develop and execute a product category strategy that aligns with the overall business goals and maximizes sales and profitability.
- Analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitor offerings to create targeted product assortments for each category.
- Continuously review category performance and adjust the strategy to meet business objectives, ensuring the right product mix is offered.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop campaigns and promotions that highlight key product categories.
Website Management
- Manage the visual merchandising of the e-commerce website, ensuring products are displayed in an appealing and user[1]friendly way.
- Optimize product page layouts, images, and descriptions to enhance the customer journey and increase conversion rates.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers and developers to improve navigation, product discovery, and overall website functionality.
- Regularly audit the website to identify and resolve issues related to product listings, images, and descriptions.
Product Management
- Oversee the product lifecycle from onboarding to launch and eventual phase-out, ensuring timely product availability and proper catalog representation.
- Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and inventory management teams to ensure stock levels align with demand forecasts and sales goals.
- Analyze product performance, sales data, and customer feedback to make informed decisions about product selection and replenishment.
- Manage seasonal and promotional product offerings, ensuring product availability and proper merchandising.
Pricing Strategy
- Develop and implement a competitive pricing strategy that ensures product profitability while staying aligned with market trends.
- Conduct ongoing competitor analysis and pricing audits to ensure competitive positioning.
- Collaborate with the finance and sales teams to determine optimal pricing for new products, seasonal items, and clearance sales.
- Continuously monitor pricing trends and adjust pricing strategies to maintain margin targets and meet customer expectations.
Replenishment Analysis and Inventory Management
- Analyze sales data and forecast demand to ensure efficient inventory management and replenishment.
- Work closely with the supply chain and logistics teams to ensure timely product restocking and avoid stockouts or overstock situations.
- Monitor inventory turnover, lead times, and other key metrics to optimize inventory levels.
- Develop and implement replenishment strategies for high-demand products to maximize sales and customer satisfaction.
- Data-Driven Merchandising
- Utilize analytics tools to track product performance, sales trends, and customer preferences.
- Leverage data to optimize merchandising strategies, including product assortment, pricing, and promotions.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as conversion rates, average order value (AOV), and sales growth to assess the effectiveness of merchandising initiatives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with the marketing, sales, and customer service teams to ensure cohesive product messaging and seamless promotions.
- Collaborate with the operations and logistics teams to ensure smooth product fulfillment and delivery.
- Lead regular meetings with key stakeholders to align on product availability, pricing strategies, and promotional initiatives.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Merchandising, or a related field. 7+ years of experience in merchandising, product management, or e-commerce management.Strong understanding of e-commerce platforms, product catalogue systems (PCS), and inventory management systems. Proven experience in developing product category strategies and managing pricing, product assortments, and online merchandising. Proficiency in using analytics tools and Excel for data analysis and decision-making. Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills.
