Red Hat Linux Administrator

Job Objective

Mange the installation, deployment and configuration of Red Hat Linux operating system, perform security checks and troubleshoot issues ensuring maximum performance and uptime for all LINUX servers leading to optimal performance 

 

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Functional Responsibilities

  1. Manage day to day operations task, design, implementation, and maintenance of our Red Hat Linux servers and related infrastructure components.
  2. Strong Technical and problem-solving skills in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6/7/8, Oracle Linux, SUSE
  3. Working Experience on Ansible Configuration management tool
  4. Experience in Migration projects, DC migrations and Migrations from/To environments.
  5. Handle Ansible playbooks for OS patching and other regular Infra OS activities.
  6. Real Time monitoring for Hardware failures, System performance, and OS trouble shooting
  7. Good working knowledge on LVM
  8. Detecting newly assigned LUNs with Multipathing and assign UDEV rules for Oracle RAC devices
  9. Installing and Configuring NFS server and Clients
  10. Network configuration with bonding
  11. Monitoring Performance, Tuning and process Management
  12. Setting kernel parameters as per the App/DB team requirements
  13. Handling OS/filesystem/VM related issues
  14. Good knowledge on Veritas Cluster Server
  15. Define and enforce standards, policies, and procedures for Red Hat Linux system administration, security, and compliance.
  16. Monitor system performance and conduct performance tuning to optimize resource utilization and enhance system efficiency.
  17. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to Red Hat Linux systems, providing timely resolution and root cause analysis.
  18. Implement and maintain security measures to protect Red Hat Linux systems from security threats and vulnerabilities.
  19. Lead initiatives to automate routine tasks and streamline administrative processes using scripting and automation tools.
  20. Stay updated with the latest Red Hat Linux technologies and best practices, evaluating and recommending new tools and methodologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  21. Perform other responsibilities as required by higher levels of supervision

 


Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred from an accredited university
