Job Summary
The role of a junior accountant is professionals who oversee posting journal entries, preparing financial statements, and maintaining accounts, receivables, or payables. They also administer monthly payroll for their company’s employees while preparing reports on the progress made throughout each month.
Duties and responsibilities
• Posting and processing journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
• Updating accounts receivable and issuing invoices.
• Updating accounts payable and performing reconciliations.
• Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines.
• Assist with reviewing expenses, payroll records, etc. as assigned.
• Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed.
• Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports.
• Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings.
• Assist with other accounting projects.
Qualifications• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.• Management-level experience is required (1+ years)• Strong Excel skills.• Strong financial system and business administration understanding.
