- Using psychotherapy to improve the quality of life for individuals, groups, and families.
- Testing and assessing patients for indications of mental health disorders.
- Developing treatment plans and strategies to help patients.
- Supporting patients who have experienced traumatic life events.
- Providing ongoing care and evaluation to patients with long-term difficulties.
- Referring patients to psychiatrist or doctors as needed.
- Helping patients to set realistic goals and monitoring their progress.
- Develop psychological intervention plans for identified cases and follow up on them regularly.
- Conduct one-to-one and group counseling sessions with children and families
- Prepare and submit individual case reports for all cases on their caseload and document case progress.
- Attend one-to-one and group supervision meetings
- Ensure that all psychological interventions offered are informed by current scientific evidence.
- Adhere to the highest standards of practice.
- Participate in awareness-raising campaigns for remote and hard to reach communities delivering mental health, child protection, and positive parenting messages
- Ensure that the activities are implemented with full respect to the child safeguarding policies.
- Support in well-being activities that don’t affect the professional relationship and confidentiality. (For Example; peer-to-peer support groups and stress awareness raising).
- Draft concise, useful, and analytical reports, case studies, and other documents as needed on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Organize and maintain the filing system of the sessions.
A university degree in psychology.2-3 years of experience in family and/or child individual and group counseling, experience in working with migrants and refugees is an asset.Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including team leading and influencing.Excellent written and oral communication skills in Arabic and English.Demonstrates the highest standard of integrity and cultural sensitivity.Excellent communication and coordination skills.Having experience working with children and families, including qualifications in providing support services for children and solid interviewing skills.Knowledge of refugee protection risks including.Understanding of child development and children’s well-being, as well as protection risks affecting children.Ability to provide guidance and supervision in a constructive manner.Ability to monitor work and performance in accordance with SOPs.Ability to work collaboratively with other professionals and organizations.Ability to plan and organize work, in accordance with the SOPs.Ability to manage stress and emotions.Ability to listen actively.
