Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chief Accountant with 5 to 7 years of experience, the ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of accounting principles, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage complex financial operations. The Chief Accountant will oversee the day-to-day accounting functions, ensure accurate financial reporting, and contribute to strategic financial planning within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for several companies of the group, completing the following functions.
  • Prepare all types of financial reports related to units being responsible for including profit & loss, balance sheet, client profitability, & other monthly & quarterly reports.
  • Perform month-end accounting activities such as reconciliations and journal entries
  • Analyze monthly/budget/forecast results, preparing commentary for senior local and regional stakeholders.
  • Ensure integrity of the monthly/forecast/budget figures.
  • Partnering with the local & regional finance function, gaining in-depth knowledge of company issues and developing strong relationships.
  • Detailed review of trading revenue results and provide commentary on variances to budget/forecast/prior year.
  • Provide training and accounting advice to local finance teams.
  • Provide support to the Senior Local & Regional Personnel & keep them updated on all matters of Significance.
  • Supporting the TB to Cartesis Reconciliations process.
  • Assisting MENA team with queries regarding Other Assets & Other Liabilities.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal controls for processes responsible for.
  • Assisting in the reviewing the Trading pillars and contacting teams for corrections.
  • Assisting with Intercompany balance sheet checks and following up with markets to correct any differences.
  • Assisting with the Stats to Cartesis process and sending any queries to concerned teams.

Key Skills responsibilities:

  • Previous 5-7 years finance experience in the reporting function.
  • Qualified accountant – CMA, CFA, IFRS dip. or equivalent is preferred.
  • Proficient in Excel & Other accounting software (e.g SAP BFC, Visual Dolphin)
  • Very Good command of English.
  • Ability to identify and solve accounting issues.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines without exceptions.
  • Ability to command respect, provide leadership, and interact with senior management.
