Position Overview
As a People and Culture Officer, you will be key to advancing our mission by managing essential HR functions focused on employee engagement, performance management, recruitment, and compliance. This role is ideal for an experienced HR generalist with a minimum of 5 years in the field, preferably within the healthcare or disability sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and grievances, ensuring timely resolution and escalation as needed.
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and hiring.
- Partner with department leaders to determine staffing needs and develop detailed position descriptions.
- Facilitate a thorough onboarding experience to support new hires in their transition to the organization.
- Collaborate with department heads to identify training and development opportunities, especially for upskilling in the disability sector.
- Ensure all HR policies and procedures remain compliant with current legislation and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate employee records and manage HR documentation in compliance with privacy laws and organizational standards.
- Foster a culture of inclusivity and respect for diversity within the organization.
- Handle HR administration tasks, including employment contracts, leave requests, and payroll support.
- Work closely with finance and payroll teams to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of HR generalist experience, ideally within the disability, healthcare, or community services sector.Proficiency with applicant tracking systems and experience in managing end-to-end recruitment.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport at all organizational levels.Proficiency in HRIS systems, Microsoft Office, and other HR-related software.Experience managing employee relations issues with sensitivity and confidentiality.Strong organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and set priorities effectively. Preferred Skills:Familiarity with disability sector regulations, NDIS frameworks, and compliance standards.
