Job Overview:

The Bid Manager - Architect will oversee the proposal preparation process, managing all stages from RFP review through to submission and post-tender responses. As a technical expert, the successful candidate will ensure that proposals meet the highest standards and client expectations.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead the proposal preparation process, from RFP review to submission and post-tender responses until award.
  • Analyze RFP documents, addressing technical, financial, and commercial requirements, and prepare tender queries as needed.
  • Collaborate with bid engineers to develop the Table of Contents (TOC) and lead proposal kick-off meetings to discuss client requirements, assign tasks, and communicate schedules.
  • Develop a risk register and propose mitigation strategies, coordinating with Area, Market, and Communication resources for effective proposal strategies.
  • Monitor and contribute to technical proposals, ensuring alignment in content and tone across executive summaries, project understanding, methodologies, and schedules.
  • Manage procurement activities for subconsultants, developing level of effort calculations and analyzing them against financial benchmarks.
  • Review draft and final proposal deliverables, leading milestone meetings for strategy, technical, financial, and quality reviews.
  • Set deadlines and monitor bid preparation activities, ensuring all activities meet established quality standards.
  • Ensure timely delivery of final bid documentation to Management & Communications (M&C) and prepare proposal presentations for clients.
  • Conduct lessons-learned sessions post-submission to identify improvement areas and develop actionable solutions.
  • Provide technical input on other proposals and mentor less experienced or newly joined team members.
  • Fulfill other responsibilities as directed by Line Management within specified timeframes.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or a related field from an accredited university; professional affiliation or eligibility for membership is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in architectural design projects, including:

- Expertise in technical building systems and compliance with international codes.

- Familiarity with procurement activities and interfacing with subconsultants.

- Knowledge of building façade design and recent trends in the MENA engineering consultancy market.

  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in proposal writing and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency in French is preferred.
