Purchasing Specialist

  • Participates in developing, implementing and evaluating purchasing plans, work processes, systems and procedures to achieve annual goals, objectives.
  • Performs or coordinates activities involved with purchasing goods and services such as, equipment, tools, and supplies.
  • Supervises purchasing Rep. involved in the internal purchase of products for the company at minimal cost, consistent with delivery requirements and quality specifications.
  • Implements the product cost reduction strategy including savings, resource plans and supplier process improvements.
  • Ensuring the implementation of instructions regarding purchasing policies and procedures and directs purchasing programs accordingly.
  • Ensures the provision of goods and services that support the achievement of overall business objectives.
  • Supervises the selection and ordering of materials, supplies, and services from vendors.
  • Verifies of purchase orders, requisitions and associated invoices for equipment purchases.
  • Communicates with supplier changes in specifications, change orders, quantities, and adjustments.
  • Ensures defective parts are returned to suppliers in line with company procedures.

Bachelor's degree in business administration or any related field.2 to 5 Years of purchasing experience preferably in pharmaceutical industry.Proven working experience as Purchasing Manager, Agent or OfficerFamiliarity with sourcing and vendor managementWorking experience of vendor management softwareAbility to gather and analyse data and to work with figuresSolid judgement along with decision making skillsStrong leadership capabilities
