O&M Manager - Water Treatment Plant

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an O&M Manager - Water Treatment Plant at Toshka Trading & Contracting Co. in Cairo, Egypt. The O&M Manager will be responsible for day-to-day operations and maintenance management of the water treatment plant, overseeing projects, managing teams, and ensuring high standards of customer service.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the operations of the water treatment plant, ensuring compliance with water quality standards.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of equipment, including pumps, Ultra-filtration systems, and RO units.
  • Develop and implement operational procedures, maintenance schedules, and safety protocols.
  • Monitor plant performance, analyze data, and optimize treatment processes to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.
  • Manage the chemical dosing process, including coagulants, acids, sodium bisulfite, and sodium hypochlorite.
  • Lead and train the O&M team, ensuring their adherence to best practices and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders to troubleshoot issues and enhance plant performance.
  • Manage budget and resources, ensuring cost-effective plant operation.
  • Ensure compliance with local environmental and health regulations.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering (or related field).
  • 8+ years of experience in water treatment plant operation, including experience with UF and RO systems.
  • Strong understanding of PLC systems, instrumentation, chemical dosing, filtration, and maintenance practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage emergencies and breakdowns.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations, and quality standards in water treatment.
  • Proven leadership and team management experience.
  • Proficiency in relevant software for plant monitoring and reporting.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.


Preferred

  • Experience with micro-bubbling technology.
  • Knowledge of asset management and O&M best practices.
