Category Manager

Job Summary

Oversee the development and implementation of comprehensive marketing plans and initiatives that align with the brand's short-term and long-term strategic goals. Foster collaboration with cross-functional teams, to ensure that the brand remains relevant to consumers and that all marketing efforts are consistent with the brand's promise. Managing vendor partners and communication agencies, overseeing all aspects of the brand's marketing activities to drive successful outcomes.


Main Responsibilities

  • Clearly convey the brand's vision, positioning, and strategies to Brand Managers, ensuring alignment and effective implementation.
  • Contribute to the brand strategy discussions and the definition of target consumers.
  • Maintain consistent packaging designs that adhere to a defined communications hierarchy and global style guide, fostering strong brand identity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new products, analyzing data to inform sales forecasts and financials, and writing concept statements for consumer testing.
  • Review historical data, reports, and consumer trends to identify potential product categories for future growth.
  • Drive consumer research to understand prime prospects' needs, attitudes, and values, enabling the creation of more impactful brand experiences.
  • Oversee the development and review of consumer and brand learning plans, ensuring the effective execution and analysis of research studies.
  • Analyze market, consumer, and competitive information to support pricing decisions for new and existing products.
  • Review consumer, category, competition, and channel/customer data to establish appropriate revenue goals for the upcoming year.
  • Implement customer marketing strategies and trade activities that align with the company's brand strategy.
  • Approve pricing, packaging, margin mix, trade spending plans, and distribution goals to develop actionable key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Conduct regular reviews of brand, competitive, category, customer, and consumer trends to enhance brand equity and marketplace performance.


Qualifications& Experience

  • Experience from 10 to 12 years.
  • FMCG and Manufacturer industry is a plus, with leadership experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or any relevant Field.
  • Marketing Diploma or CIM will be a plus.
