Job Summary

The Head of Internal Audit Governance will be responsible for governing the internal audit activity, reviewing audit policies and procedures manuals and the charter in order to verify that internal audit activity is carried out in accordance with the previously established standards and rules, especially the international standards issued by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).


Main Responsibilities

  • Review the internal audit policies, procedures and audit charter annually or as necessary.
  • Studying International Standards and best professional practices issued by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and providing recommendations and feedback to the Head Audit Governance and Quality Assurance General Department.
  • Assist the Head Audit Governance and Quality Assurance General Department in carrying out Internal Audit Sector’s tasks required by the “Assurance Service Providers” Committee.
  • Review the Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) model for internal audit, prepare a report and submit it to the Head Audit Governance and Quality Assurance General Department, and then test it semi-annually to ensure the effectiveness of controls and follow up on any control deficiencies until they are fully addressed.
  • Representing the Sector in projects undertaken by the bank with specialized consulting firms.
  • Assisting the Head Audit Governance and Quality Assurance General Department in reviewing some final audit reports before issuing them to the relevant stakeholders from a technical perspective. In addition to some working papers in the preparation phase.
  • Training and supervision of the sector’s application of computer systems used for auditing and storage of working papers, such as TeamMate.
  • Provide awareness and training on internal audit policies and procedures manuals.
  • Coordinate with various audit teams to prepare and analyze the Consolidated Risk Heat Map.
  • Conduct performance appraisal meetings through the direct manager, ensuring an efficient and objective performance management process.


Technical Competencies

  • Full knowledge of the Bank’s systems, laws and regulations.
  • Familiarity with procedures manuals for the units under review (auditable entities).
  • Ability to analyze results and provide recommendations.
  • Familiarity with internal audit methodologies and ensure the quality of work implemented.
  • Familiarity with report writing and presentation skills
  • Ability to present the results effectively.

Technological Competencies

  • Familiarity with automated systems used in internal auditing such as Team Mate &Audit Analytics.


Qualifications and Experience

  • Obtaining an appropriate university qualification.
  • Experience of not less than 11 years, including 3 years in a supervisory position.
  • Knowledge and full familiarity with the international standards issued by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).
  • Practical experience in the field of internal audit and risk of not less than 4 years.
  • Proficiency in the English language.
