As the Mechanical Operations Section Head, you will lead the mechanical and plumbing operations for large-scale construction projects. You will review designs, supervise execution, coordinate with various teams, and ensure timely and accurate completion of mechanical and plumbing works in line with project specifications.
Your responsibilities will encompass the following key areas:
Design Review and Supervision:
- Review mechanical and plumbing engineering designs prepared by external engineering consultants.
- Supervise the preparation of detailed mechanical drawings and workshop drawings by the technical office.
Material Calculation and Estimation:
- Calculate the quantity of materials and supplies required for mechanical and plumbing works on the project.
- Collaborate with the Quantity Surveyor to estimate all necessary materials and tasks for mechanical and plumbing operations.
Project Planning and Coordination:
- Work with the planning engineer to develop the execution plan for mechanical and plumbing works.
- Coordinate with design engineers and site engineers to resolve any issues that hinder the timely execution of contracted tasks.
Execution Supervision:
- Oversee mechanical operations with subcontractors to ensure adherence to the project schedule and quality standards.
- Review estimates and financial assessments submitted by subcontractors for mechanical and plumbing works on the project.
Plumbing and Pipeline Management:
- Supervise the installation of water and sewage pipe networks and ensure their operational integrity before and during commissioning.
- Ensure the proper connection and safety of water and sewage systems throughout the project.
Quality Control and Acceptance:
- Participate in setting the technical specifications for materials, equipment, and tools necessary for mechanical and plumbing works.
- Oversee the acceptance of mechanical and plumbing work and installations from contractors, signing off on the final delivery.
Final Inspections and Documentation:
- Sign off on the owner's certificates for completed mechanical and plumbing works on the project.
- Review all project deliverables to ensure full compliance with design, quality, and project timelines.
To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications and attributes:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.10 - 15 years of experience in mechanical site supervision for the construction of large-scale building projects with a focus on medical mega projects.Excellent knowledge of construction drawings, standards, and regulations.Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and project management software.Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.Ability to work collaboratively with design, execution, and subcontracting teams to resolve issues.
