As the Procurement Section Head, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective procurement of goods and services for all departments across the university. overseeing the entire procurement lifecycle from identifying needs to sourcing, contracting, and managing vendor relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic procurement plans aligned with the university's overall goals and objectives.
- Manage the procurement budget effectively, ensuring optimal value for money while adhering to university policies and regulations.
- Lead the team in sourcing and selecting qualified vendors through competitive bidding processes.
- Negotiate and finalize contracts with vendors, ensuring terms are favorable for the university.
- Oversee the processing of purchase orders and invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.
- Manage and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
- Develop and implement effective risk management strategies to mitigate procurement risks.
