Procurement Section Head

As the Procurement Section Head, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective procurement of goods and services for all departments across the university. overseeing the entire procurement lifecycle from identifying needs to sourcing, contracting, and managing vendor relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic procurement plans aligned with the university's overall goals and objectives.
  • Manage the procurement budget effectively, ensuring optimal value for money while adhering to university policies and regulations.
  • Lead the team in sourcing and selecting qualified vendors through competitive bidding processes.
  • Negotiate and finalize contracts with vendors, ensuring terms are favorable for the university.
  • Oversee the processing of purchase orders and invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.
  • Manage and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Develop and implement effective risk management strategies to mitigate procurement risks.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in procurement.
  • Provide data-driven insights and reports to support informed decision-making.

Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.Minimum 4-6 years of experience in procurement, preferably in a higher education setting.Proven experience in leading and managing a procurement team.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent negotiation and communication skills.Proficient in procurement software and tools.A deep understanding of university procurement regulations and best practices
