Senior Cost Control Engineer - Mechanical

To supervise project cost budget development, monitoring and forecasting, preparation and validation of cost status reports.


Job Responsibilities:


  • Supervise the preparation of the project cash flow during the bidding stage.
  • Upon initiating the project, Make Scope and cost validation of RBI and report the deviation.
  • After RBI validation, create a Project Cost Budget along with the cost baseline.
  • Supervise the preparation of the project invoicing plan and its bi-weekly update, verify the deviation of actual invoicing versus plan/update, and guide the project team to maximize invoicing.
  • Supervise the preparation of the Base cash flow and its monthly update and guide the project team to keep the cash flow in a positive direction.
  • Ensure maintaining project records of all cost data and accurate verification of budget/payment terms for each (PO, SC, Fixed Asset, Manpower,…..etc.).
  • Ensure the budget is always updated with both client variations and internal changes.
  • Establish the norms of the work productivity of both Manpower and Equipment and review the weekly deviation of their actual cost per work Item versus its equiv. budget/established norms.
  • On a monthly basis, report the Cost overruns and expected cash deficits along with recommendations for internal budget changes, how to maintain the budget profit, and the cash flow in a positive direction. This is through finalizing Earned Value Analysis and Project Cost Forecast reports.
  • At 95% progress of the project, Prepare a Cost Template of such project that constitutes part of its close-out report.
  • In Nov. of each year, Prepare Department Annual Budgeting, then Prepare a Cost Analysis report of each department on a quarterly basis and report the deviation
  • On a Quarterly basis, assist in the preparation of the updated/forecasted financial plan and cash flow for both projects and departments.
  • To participate in developing and presenting designated subjects in training classes and on-the-job training programs


Job Requirements:


  • B.Sc. of Engineering preferably Electrical/Mechanical
  • Contractor background, preferably in the Industrial field (Power Generation, Substation, Oil & Gas, Water treatment plants, Factories, etc.)
  • Minimum 6 years of experience including Min. 4 years in Cost Control/Project Controls
