Job Summary:

Plays a major role in driving the company's growth through strategic partnerships and in-licensing opportunities. Responsible for identifying, evaluating, and managing potential in-licensing opportunities to enhance our pharmaceutical portfolio. Working closely with cross-functional teams, assess the strategic fit, commercial potential, and financial viability of potential partnerships to ensure alignment with our company's objectives.


Duties:

  • Portfolio Strategy Development: Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and refine the in-licensing portfolio strategy, aligned with the company's overall business goals and therapeutic area priorities.
  • Opportunity Identification: Proactively identify potential in-licensing opportunities through market research, competitive analysis, and relationship-building with external partners, including pharmaceutical companies, academic institutions, and biotechnology firms.
  • Due Diligence: Lead the comprehensive evaluation of potential in-licensing opportunities, including assessing the scientific, clinical, regulatory, and commercial aspects of candidate assets. Conduct thorough due diligence and risk assessment to inform decision-making processes.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis, including forecasting, valuation, and ROI assessment, to determine the economic viability and potential value creation of in-licensing opportunities. Develop financial models and business cases to support investment decisions.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including R&D, commercial, legal, finance, marketing and regulatory teams, to ensure alignment and integration of in-licensing activities with broader business strategies and operational plans.
  • Portfolio Management: Oversee the ongoing management of in-licensing partnerships, including monitoring performance against milestones, tracking financial performance, and identifying opportunities for optimization and value enhancement.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to inform strategic decision-making and identify new opportunities for collaboration and growth.


Job Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in life sciences, business administration, or related field. MBA or PhD preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in global pharmaceutical business development, licensing, or strategic planning, with a proven track record of successful in-licensing transactions.
  • Deep understanding of the global pharmaceutical industry, including drug development processes, regulatory requirements, and commercialization strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex scientific, clinical, and financial information and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with external partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Strategic mindset, with the ability to think creatively, identify opportunities, and develop innovative solutions to drive business growth.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex concepts and influence key stakeholders.
  • Excellent English language skills. Knowledge of French, Spanish & Russian would be an asset.
