Job Description

The Instructor in the Architecture and Urban Design Program (ARUD) will support the faculty in teaching Architecture and Urban Design courses with the following tasks:

  • Contribute to the delivery of teaching, facilitation and provide academic support for ARUD undergraduate students, under the supervision and guidance of the course faculty member in accordance with the Teaching and Learning methods indicated in the Course Specs and Program Specs.
  • Deliver tutorials, seminars, laboratory classes, or other small group learning activities, using new techniques and methods of teaching according to the established curriculum in accordance with the Teaching and Learning methods indicated in the Course Specs and Program Specs..
  • Support in the courses events, like student field trips, guest lectures, etc., under the supervision of the course faculty member and according to the ARUD Manual.
  • Assess and grade, as appropriate, assignments and class quizzes, under the supervision of the course faculty member and according to the Course Specs.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of curriculum content, projects and learning techniques under the supervision of the course faculty member and according to the Course Specs.
  • In combination with teaching, undertake research, scholarship and training as well as the administrative tasks at Program, School or University levels as a part of his/her role.

Job Requirements

  • Master of Science Degree in urban design or architecture.
  • Teaching experience of at least 3 years with high evaluation.
  • Strong understanding of architectural and urban design principles and practices.
  • Extensive expertise in architectural standards and codes.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup, Rhino, Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator, or similar tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Power point, InDesign….).
  • Ability to work collaboratively and engage positively with students and faculty.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent command of English language
