Quality Control Specialist

Position Overview:

The Quality Control Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all raw materials received meet the company's quality standards and that finished goods are tested and approved before release for sale. This role involves gathering and analyzing data on raw materials and finished products to drive continuous improvement in product quality. Additionally, the Quality Control Specialist will handle customer complaints, conduct customer satisfaction surveys, analyze feedback, implement corrective actions, and manage supplier quality issues, including conducting audits and maintaining quality agreements.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Raw Material Inspection:
    • Receive and inspect raw materials, to ensure they meet the company's quality standards.
    • Conduct tests and quality assessments on raw materials to determine acceptability for production.
    • Document and report any non-conformities or quality issues identified during inspection.
  2. Finished Goods Testing:
    • Perform tests and inspections on finished goods to ensure they meet quality specifications and standards before being released for sale.
    • Approve or reject finished products based on quality criteria, ensuring only high-quality products reach the market.
    • Maintain detailed records of test results and inspection findings.
  3. Data Gathering and Analysis:
    • Collect data on the quality of raw materials and finished goods throughout the production process.
    • Analyze the data to identify trends, potential areas for improvement, and opportunities for product development.
    • Collaborate with the Product Development team to implement changes that enhance product quality.
  4. Customer Feedback Management:
    • Handle customer complaints related to product quality, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
    • Conduct customer satisfaction surveys to gather feedback on product performance and quality.
    • Analyze customer feedback and implement corrective actions to address any identified issues.
  5. Supplier Quality Management:
    • Conduct supplier audits to assess and ensure compliance with the company's quality standards.
    • Develop and maintain quality agreements with suppliers, outlining the expected quality requirements.
    • Manage incoming material inspection processes and resolve supplier-related quality issues.
  6. Continuous Improvement:
    • Proactively identify opportunities to improve quality control processes and product quality.
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and drive product excellence.
    • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in quality control and product development.

Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Engineering, Food Science, or a related field.2+ years of experience in quality control, preferably in the food manufacturing industry.Strong understanding of quality control processes, including raw material inspection and finished goods testing.Experience with data analysis and product development.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle customer complaints effectively.Familiarity with supplier quality management, including conducting audits and maintaining quality agreements.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management software.Key Competencies:Analytical ThinkingAttention to DetailCommunication SkillsProblem-SolvingCustomer FocusCollaboration and TeamworkContinuous Improvement MindsetWorking Conditions:This position may require standing for extended periods during inspections.The Quality Control Specialist may need to work in production areas with exposure to various temperatures and raw materials.Occasional travel may be required for supplier audits or customer-related activities.Flexible working Hours
