Deputy Financial Manager

  • Oversee the financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes for the manufacturing division
  • Analyze manufacturing costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction or process improvements
  • Develop and maintain robust cost models to track direct materials, labor, overhead, and other manufacturing-related expenses
  • Conduct variance analysis to understand the drivers behind cost fluctuations and identify areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with production and procurement teams to optimize inventory levels, material usage, and supplier costs
  • Monitor KPIs and financial performance metrics for the manufacturing operations
  • Provide financial recommendations and decision support to the manufacturing leadership team on capital investments, process changes, product pricing, and other strategic initiatives
  • Participate in the development of the manufacturing division's strategic plan, contributing financial perspectives and analysis
  • Lead special projects focused on improving manufacturing efficiency, reducing costs, or enhancing profitability
  • Oversee and mentor a team of financial professionals, including cost accountants, financial analysts, and report specialists
  • Ensure the team has the necessary skills, tools, and resources to effectively support the manufacturing operations
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the finance function
  • Collaborate with the production, supply chain, and procurement teams to optimize inventory levels and manage working capital
  • Support the financial manager in financial planning, capital budgeting, and strategic initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, tax requirements, and internal controls
  • Lead a team of manufacturing finance professionals and oversee their professional development
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the manufacturing division
  • Lead the budgeting process, including gathering input from operational leaders, developing detailed manufacturing cost budgets, and consolidating into the overall company budget
  • Produce accurate and insightful financial forecasts to predict future performance and identify potential issues or opportunities

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.CPA or CMA certification preferred.15+ years of finance/accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a manufacturing environmentAt least 5 years of experience in similar position.Advanced skills in financial modeling and data analysis using tools like Excel, SQL, and ERP systems.Extensive knowledge of cost accounting principles, including standard costing, activity-based costing, and variance analysis.Proficient in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reportingExcellent communication and leadership skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teamsProven ability to identify and implement process improvements and cost-saving initiativesStrong business acumen and the ability to translate financial insights into actionable recommendations for operational leadersExcellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey complex financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholdersProven track record of leading process improvement initiatives and delivering cost-saving solutions in a manufacturing environment
