Summary:
As a Technical Support Specialist focused on SQL Server and IIS, you will provide essential support to our internal teams and external customers by ensuring the smooth operation of SQL databases and web services hosted on IIS.
Your role is crucial in diagnosing and resolving technical issues, optimizing system performance, and ensuring secure and efficient server operations.
Responsibilities:
- Technical Troubleshooting and Support:
- Provide first-line response for all SQL Server and IIS-related issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to database performance, connectivity, and security.
- Address and resolve web server issues on IIS, including configuration, deployment, and operational problems.
- Database and Server Maintenance:
- Perform routine audits of systems and software, implementing improvements where necessary.
- Apply updates, patches, and configuration changes to SQL Server and IIS.
- Monitor system performance metrics and optimize servers for optimal efficiency and availability.
- Customer Interaction and Support:
- Communicate effectively with customers to understand their technical issues and provide clear, concise instructions to resolve their concerns.
- Document customer interactions thoroughly and escalate complex issues to the relevant internal teams.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed documentation for system configurations, processes, and service records.
- Develop best practices and technical resources for users and other technicians.
- Prepare regular reports on incident trends, resolution times, and pending issues.
Qualifications:
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- At least 2-3 years of experience in technical support, specifically with SQL Server and IIS.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of Microsoft SQL Server and database administration.
- Proficient with Internet Information Services (IIS) and the deployment of web applications.
- Experience with SQL queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
- Familiarity with Windows Server environments and network configurations.
