A Mechanical Engineering Designer for Sheet Metal is responsible for designing, developing, and testing sheet metal components and systems. This role involves working closely with clients, engineers, and manufacturing teams to ensure that designs meet the required specifications and standards.
Key Responsibilities:Collaborating with clients and design teams to determine sheet metal applications and requirements.Conducting research to inform the design and engineering methods required for sheet metal systems.Planning and executing sheet metal designs using CAD, CAM, and 3D CAD programs.Performing computer simulations and experiments to virtually test and refine designs.Overseeing the development and manufacturing of physical prototypes for testing.Preparing technical reports, design specifications documents, and operational manuals.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.A minimum of 2 years of experience as a mechanical design engineer, preferably with sheet metal.Proficiency with engineering design programs such as AutoCAD, Solidworks.Sound knowledge of sheet metal design and engineering principles and best practices.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Exceptional time management and organizational skills.Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.Attentive to detail and critically minded.
