Chief Financial Officer (Retail)

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Direct and manage the financial planning of the company.

- Ensure “right” preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, tax returns.

- Responsible for building models, analyzing data, and preparing statements to reconcile income with expenses to keep track of the company’s earnings and projected cash flow.

- Analyze and manage the organization’s liabilities and investments.

- Oversee investment of funds and work with investment bankers to raise additional capital required for expansion.

- Compare sales and profit projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses; make or oversee any necessary adjustments to future projections and budgets.

- Study long-range economic trends and project their impact on future growth in sales and market share.

- Identify opportunities and sponsors the exploiting for expansion into new areas.

- Work with the CEO and executives committee to coordinate planning and establish priorities for the expansion areas and directs the action plan.

- Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and members of the executive management team.

- Support the Financial team’s work efficiently by having a well-designed organizational structure that allows the Finance team to achieve their goals.


WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. MBA or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CMA) preferred.- Minimum of 10 -15 years of experience & Proven experience (+6 years) in a senior finance leadership role in the retail industry.- ERP is a must (Odoo preferred).- In depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices- Financial Modelling & Valuation Analyst (FMVA) certification is preferable.- Strong financial acumen and expertise in financial planning, analysis, and reporting.- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and standards.- Demonstrated experience in cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting.- Excellent leadership and people management skills, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.- Strategic mindset with the ability to provide financial insights and support to drive business growth.- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.- Proficient in spreadsheets, large data sets, databases, MS Office and financial applications
