We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Mold Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate is required to have a thorough understanding of plastic mold design and manufacturing processes, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality molds for plastic injection molding applications. 

This is a full-time on-site role for a Mold Designer at Nexus Engineering located in 10th of Ramadan, Cairo, Egypt. 

Educational BackgroundBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.Additional certifications or coursework in mold design, CAD/CAM softwareTechnical SkillsProficiency in CAD/CAM Software: Expertise in software such as SolidWorks, NX, AutoCAD or similar for designing molds.Knowledge of Mold Making Processes: Understanding of injection molding, blow molding, and other mold-making techniques.Materials Knowledge: Familiarity with different materials used in molding, such as plastics, metals, and composites.GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing): Strong understanding of tolerances and dimensions to ensure accurate mold design.Knowledge of Manufacturing: Understanding manufacturing requirements processes for all parts associated in the designs and application of DFM techniquesExperienceYears of Experience: 5-10 years of experience in mold design/manufacturing.Project Management: Experience managing design projects from concept to completion, including coordinating with cross-functional teams.Problem-Solving: Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve design and manufacturing issues.Soft SkillsAttention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in design work.Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey technical information effectively.Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with engineers, production teams, and handle communications with customers.Additional RequirementsPortfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing previous mold designs and successful projects.Industry Knowledge: Understanding of industry standards and best practices in mold design and manufacturing.Software Proficiency: Experience with simulation software for mold flow analysis can be a plus.ResponsibilitiesDesign and Develop Molds: Create detailed mold designs based on product specifications and manufacturing requirements.Review and Optimize Designs: Conduct design reviews and make necessary modifications to improve mold performance and efficiency.Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure the molds meet all necessary standards and requirements.Maintain Documentation: Keep detailed records of designs, modifications, and project progress.
