Job Purpose:
 As a Purchasing Manager in our food manufacturing company, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient procurement of raw materials, packaging, and other supplies essential for our production processes. You will be responsible for managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and optimizing procurement strategies to maintain quality standards while achieving cost-efficiency.
Job Duties / Responsibilities:
 

  • Vendor Management:
     Identify and qualify suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage relationships to ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials.
     Conduct supplier evaluations and audits to assess performance and adherence to company standards.
  • Procurement Strategy:
     Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with production schedules and inventory requirements.
     Monitor market trends, pricing, and availability of materials to make informed purchasing decisions.
     
  • Cost Management:
     Optimize purchasing processes to achieve cost savings without compromising on quality or delivery timelines.
     Analyze spend data and implement cost-effective measures to reduce procurement expenses.
     
  • Inventory Control:
     Collaborate with production and logistics teams to maintain optimal inventory levels.
     Implement inventory management techniques to minimize waste and ensure product availability.
     
  • Quality Assurance
     Work closely with quality assurance teams to ensure purchased materials meet safety and regulatory standards.
     Implement and monitor quality control procedures throughout the procurement process.
     
  • Team Leadership:
     Supervise and mentor purchasing staff, providing guidance on best practices and fostering a collaborative work environment.
     Conduct performance evaluations and facilitate training programs to enhance team capabilities.
     
  • Perform other task as per needed.
     

 


Educational Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. Experience Requirements:Proven experience 5 years as a Purchasing Manager in the food manufacturing industry or a related sector. Key Skills & Core Competencies : Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successful vendor relationships and contract management. Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Odoo) preferred.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a strategic mindset.
