Senior Financial Modeler

The Role:

As Sr, Financial Modeler, you will partner with the group to collate, critically analyse, and report on company data, build financial models, assess business cases, monitor financial performance, and support commercial decision-making. The role will extend to identify, assess, and track key risks impacting business performance, including profitability, capital, and liquidity.

Cash Flow Forecasting: is a significant part of their role. It helps in identifying potential funding gaps and strategizing for growth. The model provides a forward-looking view for entrepreneurs, finance professionals, and stakeholders, enabling proactive measures to be taken against any financial shortfalls

 


Job Description:

· Financial Analysis:

  • Develop and maintain complex financial models to assess business cases and strategic initiatives.
  • Perform risk cost analyses and evaluate financial impact of strategic initiatives.
  • Identify and recommend risk mitigation strategies to optimize P&L performance.
  • Own business case evaluation for risk mitigation projects, including ROI and payback period analysis.
  • Develop models to assess stress scenarios, market conditions, and establish KPIs and early warning indicators.
  • Preparing detailed budget models, Variance analysis (actuals vs. forecasts)
  • Budgeting and forecasting cash flow needs
  • Modeling for cash flow forecasting.

· Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Track and monitor key financial metrics and prepare comprehensive reports.
  • Enhance internal reporting and KPIs to provide insights to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Reconcile financial data between systems and manage external reporting processes and timelines.
  • Evaluating the financial performance of portfolio companies
  • Building Model focus only on the Working Capital, CCC
  • Support month-end, forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning cycles.

 

· Collaboration and Process Improvement:

  • Partner with business units to understand operational processes and financial forecasting.
  • Collaborate with risk management teams to report and monitor KPIs.
  • Lead continuous process improvements and business transformation initiatives.
  • Design and implement data analysis and reporting tools to support decision-making.

 


 Candidate Attributes:Integrity, numbers person, system thinker, problem solver, takes initiative and thrives under pressure.The role will be highly visible and will require someone who can work collaboratively across the organization.Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CFA preferred.Minimum 10 years of experience in financial planning, budgeting, cost control, modelling.As the organization is heading towards digitization, the role will suit a system thinker, who is constantly striving for continuous improvement.Recognized Financial Modelling qualification (e.g., AFM, CFM, FMVA) with thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.Proficiency in financial modeling, analytics, business intelligence tools, and advanced Excel.Experience with financial software and ERP systems.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and solution-focused approach.Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple deliverables and competing priorities.Solid systems ability, including Advanced Excel, SQL, VB, Business Intelligence Tools, Power BI and Office Suite.Experience implementing and improving business and finance processes.Proven track record of challenging business financial decisions and supporting forecasting and budgeting processes.Experience working within complex matrix or multi-site corporate environments
