Purpose of the job
Develop, lead and assist in the delivery of Fab Lab educational programs to ensure that the knowledge of digital fabrication is delivered in a way that promotes the objectives of the ODC Fab Lab.
Duties and responsibilities
- Identifying, developing, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating a wide variety of educational programs and related materials.
- Collecting feedback of the workshops and programs delivered and submitting reports with the recommendation to the program managers to consider enhancement of the content and the delivery.
- Researching potential opportunities, qualifying prospective clients, and collaborating in the determination of programming needs.
- Contributing to the design and development of various program evaluation tools to continually assess content and outcomes.
- Customizing program content for individual participants, as needed.
- Participating in the development and implementation of marketing plans for educational programs and services.
- Leading the program education staff and volunteers.
- Serving as unit liaison; may represent Fab Lab department in meetings for community outreach and networking purposes.
- Interfacing with students/prospective participants and provide guidance and direction regarding educational options.
- Assisting the Fab Lab Program Manager to monitor program budgets.
- Generating and preparing reports, reviewing for gaps/issues and making recommendations for improvements.
Job specification
Education
- Bachelor of Education (Preferably Technology, industrial) or Engineering (preferably Mechatronics or Production) or Applied Arts.
- Digital Fabrication and Technology certification is a plus.
- TOT certificate is a plus
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience; preferable in STEAM/STEM Education.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in designing competencies-based and project-based curriculum.
- Minimum 1 year of Project Management,
- Experience in Programming and Electronics is preferable.
- Experience in Design and CAD/CAM tools is preferable.
Skills and abilities
- Knowledge of Digital Fabrication Tools is a plus.
