- Procurement Activities:
- Identify and select suppliers based on quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Negotiate contracts, prices, and terms of delivery with suppliers.
- Monitor market trends, competitor strategies, and supplier performance to ensure optimal procurement strategies.
- Coordinate with quality control teams to conduct regular inspections of suppliers and products and ensure that all procured products meet the company’s quality standards and export requirements.
- Ensure compliance with international export standards and regulations for fruits and vegetables.
- Stay updated on export requirements and ensure all procured products meet these standards.
- Manage the procurement of packaging materials and ensure they meet quality and export standards.
- Collaborate with the operations team to procure necessary operational supplies and materials.
- Work closely with the finance department to manage budgets and optimize costs related to packaging and operational supplies.
- Oversee inventory levels and coordinate with the logistics team to ensure timely delivery of products.
- Manage stock levels to avoid shortages or excesses, ensuring a balance between supply and demand.
- Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and market conditions.
- Maintain accurate records of all procurement transactions and supplier agreements.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Agriculture, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.3-5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the fruits and vegetables industry.Strong network of contacts within the agricultural sector, including farms and suppliers.In-depth knowledge of international export standards and requirements for fruits and vegetables.Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in a similar role within the export industry.Understanding of global market trends in the fruits and vegetables sector.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
