1. Basic Responsibilities:

  • Conduct chemical research and experiments to develop new products, improve existing products, and ensure the safety and quality of chemical processes and materials.

2. RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES:

2.1 Main Tasks:

  • Research and Development: Conduct research to develop new chemical products, processes, and technologies, as well as to improve existing ones.
  • Chemical Analysis: Perform chemical analyses of materials and products using various techniques and instruments to determine their composition and properties.
  • Lab Experiments: Design and conduct laboratory experiments to test hypotheses, analyze results, and draw conclusions.
  • Quality Control: Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure the safety, efficacy, and compliance of chemical products with industry standards and regulations.
  • Documentation: Document all research and experiment results accurately, maintaining detailed records and reports for future reference and regulatory compliance.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all laboratory practices and processes comply with safety regulations and guidelines to prevent accidents and protect personnel.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, and other scientists, to achieve research and development goals.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support and expertise to other departments, such as production, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs.
  • Training: Train and mentor junior chemists, lab technicians, and other staff on laboratory techniques, safety protocols, and best practices.
  • Innovation: Stay updated on the latest advancements in chemistry and related fields, contributing to continuous improvement and innovation in the organization.

3. KPIs (Key Performance Indicators):

  • Research Output: Measure the number and quality of research projects completed, including publications, patents, and new product developments.
  • Experiment Success Rate: Track the success rate of laboratory experiments and the achievement of desired outcomes.
  • Quality Control: Monitor the effectiveness of quality control procedures and compliance with industry standards.
  • Safety Performance: Evaluate adherence to safety protocols and the number of safety incidents in the laboratory.
  • Collaboration Effectiveness: Assess the effectiveness of collaboration with cross-functional teams and the impact on project outcomes.

4. DYNAMICS / LIAISE:

4.1 Within the Organization:

  • Collaborate with research and development teams, production departments, and quality assurance to ensure the successful implementation of chemical processes and products.
  • Work with safety officers to enforce safety protocols and guidelines in the laboratory.

4.2 With External Parties:

  • Engage with suppliers, vendors, and external research institutions to source materials, obtain technical support, and stay informed about industry trends and advancements.
  • Work with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with chemical regulations and standards.

 


5. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.Minimum of 0-3 years of experience in chemical research, laboratory work, or related roles.6. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITY:Strong understanding of chemical principles, laboratory techniques, and analytical methods.Proficiency in using laboratory instruments and software for chemical analysis and data interpretation.Knowledge of quality control procedures and safety regulations in a laboratory setting.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to design and conduct experiments and analyze results.Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.Strong organizational and documentation skills, with attention to detail in maintaining accurate records and reports.7. OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:Working Conditions: Laboratory-based work with some office-based analysis and reporting. May involve exposure to hazardous materials and chemicals.Physical Efforts: Requires physical fitness and the ability to handle laboratory equipment and materials safely.Other Requirements: Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and professional development. Ability to adapt to changing research conditions and work in a dynamic environment.
