About the Company:
On behalf of our client, a globally renowned fashion and lifestyle brand, we are seeking an experienced Senior Garment Technologist to join their Egypt-based sourcing and production office. The company is known for its strong commitment to quality, sustainability, and innovation in the global apparel market.
Position Overview:
The Senior Garment Technologist will be responsible for overseeing the technical development, fit approval, and production processes of lightweight woven and circular garments. This role requires close collaboration with design, product development, and manufacturing teams to ensure that all products meet the brand’s quality and fit standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the garment engineering process from development through to production for woven apparel categories
- Evaluate samples for fit, construction, and workmanship, providing clear technical feedback
- Attend fit sessions and work closely with pattern makers and design teams to ensure accurate execution
- Ensure compliance with company standards in terms of garment quality, fit, and safety regulations
- Collaborate with local vendors, mills, and production facilities to resolve technical issues
- Conduct risk assessments on new styles prior to production
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of fabric performance, finishing techniques, and production methods
- Train and mentor junior technologists or QA staff as needed
Requirements:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in a similar role within the fashion or apparel industry
- Strong expertise in lightweight woven garments (shirts, blouses, dresses, etc.)
- In-depth knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, and textile behavior
- Experience working with international brands or retailers is highly preferred
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to be based full-time in Cairo, Egypt
