Job Details

  • Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

  • Review journal entries, accruals, prepayments, provisions, and account reconciliations.

  • Ensure accurate and timely closing of monthly and annual accounts.

  • Analyze financial results and provide management with explanations of significant variances.

  • Maintain accurate accounting records in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.

Construction & Project Accounting

  • Monitor and control costs for construction projects in Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

  • Track project budgets, actual costs, commitments, and cost-to-complete estimates.

  • Prepare project profitability, WIP (Work in Progress), and cost reports.

  • Review subcontractor invoices, supplier invoices, purchase orders, and project expenses.

  • Ensure proper allocation of labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead costs to projects.

  • Coordinate with project managers to monitor project financial performance.

  • Identify cost overruns, budget variances, and potential financial risks.

  • Support project managers with financial analysis and cost-control information.

  • Egypt & Saudi Arabia Accounting

  • Maintain separate and accurate accounting records for operations in Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

  • Ensure accounting transactions are properly recorded in the appropriate country/entity.

  • Handle intercompany transactions and reconciliations between Egyptian and Saudi entities.

  • Monitor transactions involving different currencies, including EGP and SAR, and ensure appropriate foreign-exchange accounting.

  • Assist with consolidation and group reporting where applicable.

  • Coordinate with local accountants and finance teams in both countries.

  • Tax & Regulatory Compliance

  • Support compliance with applicable Egyptian and Saudi tax and regulatory requirements.

  • Coordinate with tax advisers and external accountants regarding tax filings, audits, and regulatory matters.

  • Review VAT-related transactions and supporting documentation.

  • Ensure proper documentation and accounting treatment for cross-border transactions.

  • Assist with tax reconciliations and provide required schedules and supporting documents.

  • Stay updated on changes in accounting and tax regulations affecting the company's operations.

  • Cash Flow & Treasury

  • Monitor project and company cash flows.

  • Prepare cash-flow forecasts for Egypt and Saudi Arabia operations.

  • Monitor customer collections and outstanding receivables.

  • Coordinate supplier and subcontractor payment schedules.

  • Reconcile bank accounts and investigate unusual or outstanding transactions.

  • Support management in optimizing working capital and liquidity.

  • Audit & Internal Controls

  • Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation for external and internal audits.

  • Coordinate with external auditors in Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

  • Ensure proper implementation of financial controls and accounting procedures.

  • Identify control weaknesses and recommend improvements.

  • Maintain complete and organized financial documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Minimum 5–8 years of relevant accounting experience.

  • Previous experience in a construction, contracting, engineering, or real-estate development company is highly preferred.

  • Strong experience in project accounting and construction cost control.

  • Good knowledge of financial reporting and accounting principles.

  • Experience with intercompany accounting and multi-currency transactions.

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems.

  • Professional qualification such as ACCA, CMA, CPA, SOCPA, or equivalent is an advantage.

  • Preferred Knowledge

  • Experience working with companies operating in both Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

  • Knowledge of Egyptian and Saudi VAT and tax requirements.

  • Experience with Saudi construction projects and subcontractors.

  • Understanding of WIP, percentage-of-completion/project revenue recognition, and cost-to-complete calculations.

  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Odoo, or similar.

  • Good understanding of IFRS and project-based accounting.
